This Cookie Policy explains how MACPrep uses cookies and similar browser storage technologies. We keep this minimal: we use only what is needed to run the Service and do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
| Technology | Purpose | Type |
|---|---|---|
| Secure session cookies | Keep you signed in without exposing long-lived credentials to page scripts. | Strictly necessary |
Local storage (macprep_signed_in) | Stores a non-secret sign-in indicator so public navigation can show the Dashboard link. | Strictly necessary |
| Session storage | Stores a non-secret active-tab marker. Authentication credentials remain in HttpOnly cookies and cannot be read by page scripts. | Strictly necessary |
| Local storage (preferences and local state) | Remembers interface preferences, theme and font choices, and resumable local product state. It does not hold your authentication credential. | Functional |
Local storage (macprep_vid) | Assigns a pseudonymous first-party identifier to measure use of the public sample-question experience. It is not used for cross-site tracking. | Analytics |
Signing out clears the active MACPrep session. Closing a tab clears its session storage. Clearing site data for macprep.org removes cookies, preferences, local state, and the public-demo identifier and will sign you out.
We may update this policy; the "last updated" date reflects the latest version.
